5 NIVA’s qualities From the mountains to the fjords and the ocean – NIVA’s knowledge of freshwater and marine ecosystems gives us a holistic perspective on aquatic ecosystems.

Experience from more than 70 countries

Basic funding NIVA receives an annual basic funding from the Research Council of Norway. The basic funding, 12% of total turnover, is intended for: specific research tasks to ensure competence in line with NIVA strategy
