Active Directory : Overview  Active Directory is basically a database of all users and computers at Knox County Schools It will be an organized list of students, teachers, staff, and parents in the school district It is a list of hardware resources available to users  Servers  Computers  Will work with Windows and Macintosh  Networked Printers  Benefit of Using Active Directory Single-Sign On For Many Applications Can Sign On At All Schools Increased Security

Active Directory Organization Basics  One District Domain – Knox County Schools  Centralized Management User Accounts Servers Computers Printers  Organizational Unit (OU) At School Site Allows Local Administrator to Manage Add Local Groups Add Computers Add Printers
