Singapore’s Botanic Gardens. By Sofia Montibeller

Intro The Botanic Gardens is a Rainforest in Singapore. Singapore’s Botanic Gardens is one of the oldest remaining rainforest in Singapore.

Weather The weather in Singapore is mainly warm or hot throughout the year, although there is rain fall. It mainly happens in the monsoon season which is November to January.

Terrain The terrain is lowland with the mountains a bit wavy so they might shift a little they also have some areas that may catch water.

Animals Animals specifically found in the Botanic Gardens. The Common Treeshrew The Tree Frog The Gliding Lizard The Flameback

The Common Tree shrew The Tree Frog The Tree Shrew is a small animal, that has a long snout/nose and a longish tail. Its coat is thick and is in the colours of olive, brown and gray with a pale colour like a white on it tummy. The Tree frog also called the Four-Line Tree Frog can range from the colours uniform green and olive brown. There are 4 dark coloured brown or grey lines on its back. The Tree Frog also has really long slender legs.

The Flameback The gliding Lizard The Flameback has a golden yellow wing colour like other woodpeckers it has a point beek and a strong tail to help it stay on the trees. The Flameback also have a long tongue to help it catch insects. The gliding lizard is a lizard with two flaps on the sides of it. To help it get away from other animals, when it opens it flaps it will be able to glide from tree to tree. They Gliding lizard likes to stay at the tops of the trees and they feed on small insects.

Plants There is one main plant in the Botanic Gardens Called The pitcher plant.

The Pitcher Plant The Pitcher Plant is a plant that eats small insects. It attracts the insects by a nice smelling liquid that smells like nectar. This plant gets its name because the leaves look a bit like pitchers.

Natural Disasters In some rainforests the natural disasters that occur are Mud slides, Flooding and Drought. Mud slides happen when there is lot of pressure on the ground. Floods happen when there is too much water. Droughts happen when there is not enough water.

Conclusion Thanks for watching!
