Proposal A terminology standard on multimedia home network configuration

Background PT 62608: Multimedia systems and equipment - Multimedia home network configuration - Basic reference model, it is proposed from Japan. PT members of Japan study CD. In this study, it was clear that the terminology of network technology for CE (consumer electronics) equipment and systems is very unclear and ambiguous. Network terminology is oriented IT (internet technology) and there was no relation with CE technology, and it is not familiar with CE, but the current CE devices has a capability of IT. The blended devices of CE and IT technology are being popular now, but terminology is not defined yet.

Example Home network system Router, Gateway, definition? Server, what? NAS, what kind of NAS? DLNA capable? IT specific terminology DHCP, CLI, SNMP, zero-config, CLM, DMTF, etc…
