Financial support for public education is declining. Its impact will be felt at MPS Charter Schools – New & Existing Open Enrollment Choice Is Yours- Over 2,000 Minneapolis students This has the potential to impact MPS enrollment significantly. 10 The Reality of the Public Education Sector

1.There are more kindergarteners in the city of Minneapolis. This trend, based on 2010 US Census data, will continue (demographics). 2.The number of high school students in the city of Minneapolis is projected to decline until a change Impact on the public education sector will result in increasing percentages of students educated by MPS (market share). 4.Action needs to be taken to address projected enrollment changes as evident today. 5.This is a very good challenge for MPS and will require continuous monitoring. 19 Conclusion
