Eve gave into the doubt and desire.  Adam, who was there with her, also ate from it.

Knowledge  Embarrassment  Shame  Fear

God gave them a chance to confess.  Adam blamed God and Eve.  Eve blamed the Serpent.

Consequences - Serpent  Cursed  Crawl on its belly  Eat dust  Enmity between it and humans

Consequence - Eve  Birth Pains  Desire  Husband is in charge

Consequences - Adam  Ground cursed  Weeds  Death

Garden  Tree of Life  Adam & Eve banished  Cherubim and Flaming Swords
