Setting Up RMC for Catalyst March 19, 2014

Pre-requisites If getting Catalyst Admin support for installing RMS, register at IBM first and get a user account and password – Get a token for CSC VPN access Contact Catalyst Admin for: – Access permission and instructions for accessing Catalyst server via VPN – Access to Subversion – An RMC activation key

Download IBM Installation Manager / / Run the program to get the IBM Installation Manager screen (this is not the installed version of the Installation manager yet). Follow instructions in the diagram below and uncheck the repository (if possible)

Install RMC Step 1: Map a drive to \\CSCCVSNSC002\Shared (Requires VPN access and a local account on the server) Step 2: Launch IBM Installation Manager - Select File – Preferences Step 3: Click 'Add Repository'

Install RMC, cont Step 4: Browse to the following file on the drive mapped in Step 1 "Software\RMC\7.5.2\RMC 752DISK\disk1\diskTag.inf“ Step 5. Select OK twice, and then select Install, and it will pick up the RMC software package from the Catalyst server. NOTE: During the install all users should install the 32-bit version

Setup Your PC Directories In your Users folder, create three directories within the RMC sub-folder: Library-zipped Published-zipped Skins/[skin name] The skin directory can be created when unzipping the skin zip file. (Unzipping may create two directories with same name, one below the other. Bring the second one up) Each directory is discussed on subsequent slides

Within RMC, Set Preference to Link Name with Presentation Name

Library-zipped Folder This directory contains the archive of method libraries that are not managed by Subversion (most people will not need this directory) The notation applies all method libraries

Published-zipped Folder

Download the Recent Skin file from the CMAM This skin will be used in the next step csc.com/cmam/ #practice.mdev. auth.practice_a uth.extend- csc/guidances/r eusableassets/c kc_skins_21B51 2B7.html

Skins Folder Unzip [skin name].zip as a folder into the “RMC/Skins” folder Unzipping may create two directories with same name, one below the other. Rename the top one, bring the second one up level, and then delete the first one) This directory is selected when publishing a website (Later there may be a version of the skin for iPads)

Add the Banner File Create a new “RMC” folder Users/RMC Take the banner gif (CKC_banner.gif) from the Skins folder and place it here FYI: This folder is referred to in RMC when publishing to a website
