Moon Earth and Sun facts By : Zora Reyes

Size The Moon is 3475 km The Earth 3959 km The Sun is km The Sun is really, small if you look at all of the others stars

Surface The Moon has craters the Moon is made is made out of rocks. If you step on it you will leave a mark. The earth is mostly made of water but it is there is still land on earth The sun is made of hot gases, hydrogen, iron, magnesium, helium, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur

Gravity The Moon has 6 times less gravity than the Earth. Ex : someone weighs 120 lbs. the person goes to the Moon you weigh 20 lbs. Earth has 6 times than the Moon

Time to rotate on its axis The Moon takes 27.5 days for one whole rotation The Earth takes one day for one whole rotation The Sun takes 27 to 35 days to make a full rotation

Time to revolve The Moon revolves around the Earth. It takes 29 day to revolve around the earth. the Moon revolves and rotates to cause the phases of the moon The earth takes 1 year or 365 days Luckily the Sun does not revolve or rotate around the earth

Weathering and erosion Moon has no weathering and erosion because there is nothing to move water on or anything. Also there is no atmosphere and no weather The Earth has weathering and erosion, we have weather and a atmosphere. Weathering and erosion work together and change the Earth. Also if you want to learn more go to the next slide

Weathering and erosion intel Weathering breaks down materials in the earths crust into sediment Erosion is weathered rock is carried away by gravity, wind, and ice

How tides work High tides occurs on the sides of the Earth closest to the Moon. In the middle of the Earth they have low tides

How seasons work Winter and fall. Farthest from the gives less warmth Summer and spring. Closest from the Sun gives more warmth. the seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth

Weather and atmosphere The Moon has extreme weather. It is 110 Celsius when the moon is shinning. The Moon is below 50 Celsius. The moon as no atmosphere or a very thin atmosphere. The Earth is 15 Celsius. The Earth has a atmosphere. The atmosphere causes weather and erosion. We have rain, snow, sleet, fog, thunder storms, lighting, and tornados.

Water Yes there is water on the Moon. There is ice on the Moon so we do water. There is 6 % water. 75 % of the Earth is made from water. So that is a lot of water!!

Interesting features of the Sunsun The Sun is so big you can put 1,000,000 Earths in the sun. The suns core is 13,600,000 Celsius. The sun is almost a perfect sphere. Some of the sunspots can be larger than the Earth. The solar flares can make electricity can go out.

Effects on Earths temperatures The Earths surface is warmed by the sun. Some heat is absorbed by a greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. Some heat makes its way to space directly
