Welcome to Toongkwaikin Agricultural Cooperative, Ltd.

Location Toongkwaikin Agricultural Cooperative, Ltd. is located at Kraeng District, Rayong Province. Eastern Part of Thailand, It takes about 300 Kilometre far from Bangkok

Historical Background At earlier stage, before establishment of the Cooperative, fruit growers in Klaeng District has suffered from low selling price because of supply inconsistent with demand and poor quality fruits. The main products consist of fresh rambutan, mangosteen, durian, longan and sala.

The Thungkwaikin Agricultural Cooperative, Ltd. was registered on 7 April 2009 Five years later, cooperative members had learned the cooperative principles, systematic management and production planning that result in outperformance and better-being after all.

At present, all fruits produced by 200 cooperative members will pass grading and achieve the standard before selling to the cooperative. In addition, the cooperative undertakes marketing of even disqualified fruits for members to relieve the low selling price on the oversupply. The supply will be made through its fruit-grower network in Rayong Province and its vicinity.

The fruits of averagely 600 – 800 tons a year will be transported to its networks for end-consumers across the country and about 20- ton fruits are also exported to Vietnam and China every year.

Business activities The Cooperative has been implementing various activities in accordance with members´ need, its objectives and cooperative plan are as follows:- -Marketing Business Collect agricultural products such as rambutans, mangosteens, durian and sala from members for sale in town, as well as distribute to Bangkok and for export.

Credit Business – short-term loan and medium-term loan Purchasing Business – providing farm materials such as fertilizer, insecticide and other necessary goods for members. Another important marketing business activities of the Cooperate is promoting dairy

Based on the cooperative system through network, the transport can be done efficiently. The network was derived from the initiative of the Cooperative Promotion Department in encouraging the capable cooperatives in the North and the North-eastern to set up the provincial distribution center for cooperative products.

The distribution centers act like outlets of cooperative goods where selling cooperatives and the buying cooperatives can become trade partners. Cooperative Promotion Department granted some subsidies to cooperative for truck procurement which supports the punctual supply after all.

This reflects the extreme advantage of cooperative system that apparently contributes increasing efficiency in production and sales to cooperatives.

It can be said that the cooperative from group farming become a center of collecting, grading, and marketing to customers and suppliers in the country and in abroad. The cooperative learns to set the production and marketing plans systematically which can relieve suffering from poor production and marketing effectively and sustainably.
