The project Training on intelligent monitoring systems to more efficiently deliver electricity from power producers to end-users
Initial steps Siemens provided oversight for course content Siemens delivered first level training to college instructors
Training at DCTC Training integrated into Electrical Construction and Electrical Lineworker programs
Training at DCTC 65 students trained as of December Electrical Construction students to be trained Spring Electrical Lineworker students to be trained Fall 2012 Training at partner colleges 15 students at Minnesota West to be trained Spring 2012

Successes Close to target for number of trained workers (160 out of 180) Released curriculum to MN Rural Electric Association Instructors have molded curriculum to fit the needs of their specific programs
What is next Deliver training to 45 additional students Spring 2012 and Fall 2012 Finish developing table top trainers with Siemens Continue to integrate Smart Grid training into DCTC and customized training programs after the grant
