Start-up project, funded by JISC till Aug 2008 Exploring the organisational, cultural, procedural and technical challenges in creating a singular repository to fulfil the roles usually provided by discrete Learning Object Management, Open Archive and scholarly repository systems. Collaborating with Intrallect to accelerate development. What is the CIRCLE project?

Staff profile webpages link to repository and list current research. Google. Auditing research for the RAE. Research isnt just about text! Amazon features. Importing citations into Endnote. Enhancing research methodologies at U/G level. Datasets. Whats needed to make the repository work for research?

What are the issues so far? Open versus Closed Crossover in terms of content e.g Learning designs. Intralibrary requires login. Open access will require a portal page. Self-deposit requires authentication in place.

What are the issues so far? Taxonomies / Metadata Flexibility – ability to create School-based taxonomy? JACS? Free text searching not available yet.
