The Prophecies and Importance of the Birth of Christ!

Prophecies Fulfilled Prove the Messiah!

The Lord Jesus Christ is the “Rock of Salvation.” Duet 32:15; 2 Sam 22:3, 47; Psa 18:2, 46; 62:2, 6-7; 89:26; 95:1; Isa 17:10; Hab 1:12; Rom 9:33; 1 Cor 10:4; 1 Peter 2:8.

Psa 18:2, “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

Psa 89:26-27, “He will cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.’ 27 I also shall make him My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.”

Hab 1:12, “Are You not from everlasting, O LORD, my God, my Holy One? We will not die. You, O LORD, have appointed them to judge; and You, O Rock, have established them to correct.”

Rom 9:33, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, and he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

1 Cor 10:4, “And all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.”

Heb 12:2, “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Prophecies Fulfilled

He would come through the woman’s seed. Gen 3:15

“Bruising on the head” speaks of a mortal wound; the defeat of Satan and sin. Rom 16:20; Rev 12:9; 20:2.

Rev 12:9, “The great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world…”

Rom 16:20, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”

“Bruising on the heal” is not a mortal wound, but a debilitating one that foretold of the suffering of Christ on the Cross to purchase our sins.

The fulfillment of the Lord’s coming through the woman’s seed, Gal 4:4.

The Lord would be born from a virgin, Isa 7:14.

Isa 7:14, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

His name would be Immanuel, that means “God is with us.”

His name would be Immanuel, that means “God is with us.” Fulfilled in Mat 1:18-26, Luke 1:26-35.

Mat 1:23, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

The birth of Jesus forever more united in His person God and man in hypostatic union, (100% God and 100% man with out loss of any attributes).

Jesus being the “Son of God” was also prophesized in Psa 2:7 and fulfilled in Mat 3:17; Luke 1:35.

Psa 2:7, “I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.”

Mat 3:17, “And behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased”.”

Prophecy of a forerunner to Jesus, Isa 40:3; Mal 3:1, in the person of John the Baptist, Mark 1:1-4.

Mal 3:1, “Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts.”

From a virgin woman, the Son of Man and Son of God, was born to us so that He would be the Savior of the world, being preceded by John the Baptist. Whosoever believes on Him will have eternal life, John 3:16.

Grace Offering Prov 3:9-10, “Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
