About Kunhadi: Kunhadi is a nonprofit organization founded in October 2006, dedicated to saving lives. It works on: 1- Improving the quality of roads in Lebanon 2- Changing the behavior of Lebanese drivers. 4

The idea of launching Kunhadi came from responding to: 1- The death of Hadi Gebrane, an 18 years old Guy, in a car crash. 2- The shocking number of traffic victims. Kun means Be and Hadi means calm, which means Be Calm and at the same time it holds his name. 5

Vision: Attempt to be creative in youth awareness in road safety in Lebanon and the region. Mission : 1-To stand-in a culture of safe driving habits 2- Bringing down the yearly increase in the number of car accident from 70% in 2008 to 2% in

Objective: Kunhadi aims to decrease the five most common causes of car crashes: 1- Speed Driving 2- Drunk Driving 3- Fatigue Driving 4- Not Wearing the Hamlet 5- The Use of Mobile Phones 7

Activities done by Kunhadi: 1- Hosting free interactive sessions in schools and universities. 2- Distributing Road Safety flyers on all occasions. 3- Launching two Road Safety Campaigns per year. 4- Offering free taxi services in the New Year Eve. 5- Installing reflective markings to highlight non-visible curves. 6- Establishment of a Taxi Driving School. 8

Reasons for Volunteerism: 1- Increase Road Safety Awareness 2- Help youth from losing their lives 3- Provide high road quality 4- Meet new people 5- Gain new friendships 6- Acquire new job skills 7- Enhance your CV 8- Gain work experience 9- Participate in your community 9

Conclusion: Reducing the number of traffic death rate is the major issue that Kunhadi has been attacking for the past years. Based on the strong turnout among Hadi's friends and family members, it was clear that Hadi's absence is still being felt. Nevertheless his loved ones renewed their commitment to use his catastrophic death for positive change on Lebanon's roads. Kunhadi's message reminds all drivers to "be brave" and "drive carefully." 10
