Serial Dilutions Example!

Make a 0.2-g/mL NaCl STOCK solution - Add 2 g of sodium chloride to beaker and add distilled water to 10 mL 0.2 g/mL NaCl Stock Solution

Get as many test tubes (minus two) as you have Petri dishes for your experiment

Add 5 mL of distilled water to each of you test tubes

Add 5 mL of Stock Solution to first test tube.

Mix the first Tube 0.1 g/mL NaCl

Take 5 mL of first tube and add to second tube

Mix 0.1 g/mL NaCl 0.05 g/mL NaCl

Repeat and remove 5 ml from last tube and discard 0.1 g/mL NaCl 0.05 g/mL NaCl 0.025 g/mL NaCl 0.0125 g/mL NaCl 0.00625 g/mL NaCl 0.00313 g/mL NaCl 0.0156 g/mL NaCl
