Hello! I’m Johnton And I’m four years old !

I’m a Down’s Syndrome boy and so I can’t go to a normal school But that doesn’t matter …

… because I go to …

I have a whole lot of friends here !

There so many special children like myself!

This is Naufal and he’s 7 years old He has cerebral palsy and couldn’t walk at all

That was before he came here The therapist helps him to walk … … pushing him when needed

And now he can walk, and even play with us !

This is Tony, another friend of mine He studies at school with me too

He cannot attend a normal school because he is intellectually impaired But that doesn’t stop him from having fun !

These are Tony’s friends Like him, they are different

They learn to make lots of things here Paper bags, pickles and candles

They are now useful members of society They all even have post office accounts!

Oh ! I almost forgot, these are the people who make things work here! Our Teachers !

Dr Premila, the guiding force behind the academy

The School was set up in the memory of her daughter, Shilpa, who was also one of us

Dr. Premila is also in charge of our early intervention unit. It’s proven that if detected and treated early, children with mental disability can be helped much better

And so, at the early intervention center, they try to help children like us To help them become normal members of society

We believe that it is only by training our parents that children like me can be helped

Although we love the school as it is now, it is getting a little crowded And there are a lot more kids like me who need help

This piece of land is the future of the academy This is where we propose to start a bigger and better vocational unit so that more children like us can be helped

We also want to set up a parent training program. This will be the first of its kind in the state, teaching parents of special children what our special needs are

The school doesn’t charge us anything at all for the services that it renders In fact its funds come from well wishers … … People like yourself

You have been assisting the academy in helping us for 6 years Now, more than ever, Shilpa needs help … … Your help
