Mission Statement The mission of the Pender Public School District is to provide quality educational opportunities in a safe, positive learning environment that motivates and challenges all students to become productive and responsible citizens.

Student Assemblies NeSA Celebration Tuesday, September 20 th, :00 p.m. Reviewed test scores with student K-12 Praised them for their efforts Had LOTS of fun!

Student Assemblies Farm Safety Day Friday, September 23, 2011 All day event for our FFA students as well the Pender 3-6 graders. Other local schools sent their third grade classes including Walthill, Winnebago, and Wakefield. Very successful day for our FFA program and many young children.

Community Coffee Wednesday, October 12 th, :30 – 9:30 a.m. Held in cafeteria Coffee and Rolls provided All-State choir contestants will perform

Homecoming October 3-7 th, 2011 Theme was “Pender is Dynamite” Student council went above and beyond to make homecoming a success. Pender Booster Club played an active role as well. Take a look at the Pender Public Schools Facebook page for details.

Fall Sports Football – Off to a 6-0 start – Play Walthill Friday night Volleyball – Off to a 9-11 start – Have Homer this week as well as EHC tourney Cross Country – Doing well. Districts are Thursday. Girls Golf – Alexia Henschke is competing at state golf today. She shot a 45 and a 45 today. She will continue to compete tomorrow.

Sharing Resources Things seem to be going well. Mrs. Von went to Emerson to teach last Thursday. Marketing kids have been spending some extra time in E-H. Gracious enough to arrange transportation. Everyone is working well together.

G.O.O.S.E. G.O.O.S.E. stands for Get Out of School Early I cover 1 st or 8 th period for the receiving teacher Can cover the period after lunch for coaches/sponsors who cannot come late or leave early Given as recognition for a job well done GOOSE recipient for September was Lanette VonSeggern for her work with AP Calculus.
