Why cite sources? What’s the point? How to create a Works Cited page using Noodlebib

What is Noodlebib? Noodlebib is a tool that helps you create a works cited page and keep track of research notes It allows you to format citations using multiple style (APA, MLA, etc.) We will us MLA starter in Noodlebib to format our citations For the Shi Huang Di assignment, you will use it to create a Works Cited page only.

Identify your sources There are several different types of sources Reference sources – Provides broad information Online Databases –Provide topic specific information Books Websites E-books Magazines What type of sources are used in your SHD packet? Label each source.

Getting Started in Noodlebib Go to LHS library website Select “Cite Sources” Log into Noodlebib Create a new project (Shi Huang Di) Select bibliography Select MLA starter Select source type

Finishing up When are you done entering your citation information, print/export to a word document Don’t change the formatting! Type your name in the top left hand corner Print

Label each part of the citation- Source 1 T- Title of article D.B – Database P-Database Publisher D.P- Date of publication D.V – Date it was printed or viewed

Label parts of the citation- Source 2 & 3 A- Author(s) T – Title of Book (include sub-titles) C- City of publication (city closest to Boston) P- Publisher’s name Y- Year of publication (Year it was first printed)

Label parts of the citation- Source 4 T- Title of article E- Encyclopedia Y- Year of publication D.B- Name of database D.V- Date you viewed it or it was printed
