Presented by: Shri Bickyforth R. Marak Programme Manager, FFDA BAGHMARA & RONGARA C&RD BLOCK FIELD INSPECTION REPORT ON THE SCHEME IMPLEMENTED UNDER MEGHALAYA STATE AQUACULTURE MISSION THROUGH SPA ( ), VALUE CHAIN ( ) & RKVY CORPUS FUND ( ), SOUTH GARO HILLS

SPA( ) Special Plan Assistant scheme under Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission was launched in the year beneficiaries each from Baghmara and Rongara C&RD Block was selected for fish pond construction under this scheme.

VALUE CHAIN MANAGEMENT( ) 15 beneficiaries each from Baghmara and Rongara C&RD Block were selected for the Value Chain Management ( ) under Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission. The training has been already given to the beneficiaries but the work order is still to be given to the farmers as the case still pending with concern bank.

RKVY CORPUS FUND ( ) 90 beneficiaries were selected from the South Garo Hills for fish pond construction measuring an area of 0.1ha under RKVY CORPUS FUND ( ), Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission. The training to the farmers was given last week but the work order cannot be issued to the farmers due to the implementation of election code of conduct.

Smti. Kish Ch. Sangma BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that the sanction amount was not sufficient to construct the required 0.1 ha pond as the daily wages of the labour is higher than the estimated. She completed the construction with her own expenses. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Shri Omol M. Sangma BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that he uses his money to construct the pond measuring an area of 0.15ha. Low water table has a negative effect on fishes in the pond and the other concern that the beneficiary share is the poaching of fish. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Shri Henry B. Marak BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary finish the construction with his own expenses. Poaching has been a great problem in rearing of fish. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Smti. Sushilla B Marak BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that she uses her money to finish the construction of the pond measuring an area of 0.1ha. Low water table has a negative effect on the fish in the pond and the other concern which the beneficiary share is the poaching of fish. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Smti. Lucy B Marak BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: Finish the construction of required area 0f.1ha by her own expenses. She is expecting to do the first harvesting of fish from his pond by July Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Smti. Marbina R Marak BAGHMARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that she uses her money to finish the construction of the pond measuring an area of 0.1ha. The main concern that the beneficiary share is the poaching of fish. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Shri Anot Marak RONGARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that he uses his money to finish the construction of the pond measuring an area of 0.08ha. Low water table has a negative effect on the fish in the pond.

Shri Benting Marak RONGARA BLOCK Feedback: He express his disappointment that sanction amount is not sufficient to construct the required 0.1ha. Low water table has a negative effect on fish culture. Fingerlings were stocked on July 2013.

Lemish Marak RONGARA BLOCK Feedback: She is happy with the department concern for helping them to better their livelihood by doing fish culture.

Shri Therak Sangma RONGARA BLOCK Feedback: The beneficiary tell us that he uses his money to finish the construction of the pond measuring an area of 0.1 ha. and thank the concern department for helping him to do fish culture. Low water table has a negative effect on fish culture.
