How can people use natural resources? Chapter 6 Lesson 1

Resources and natural resources A resource is anything people can use to meet their needs. A natural resource is anything in nature people can use to meet their needs.

How do people use natural resources?

Air and water are natural resources People drink water People breathe air Air and water are natural resources People use wind and moving water as energy People use water to grow plants and raise animals People use water to bathe, cook and clean

Rocks and soil are natural resources People use them to make building & roads People get metals from rocks called ores. Rocks and soil are natural resources People use metals to make cars, bikes and pots Soil holds plants in place. Soil has nutrients that plants need to grow.

Plants are also natural resources People use plants to make things and build things. People eat plants. People use plants to cook other things. Cotton to make cloths Wood from trees to build houses, make chairs. Fruits & vegetables. Wheat to make bread. Rice
