Arctic Moss

Calliegon giganteum They have 2 life stages. Is found on the bottom of the tundra lake beds in and around bogs and fens. They don’t have wood stems, they have tiny leaves usually only one cell thick.

Calliegon species cont. It has adapted to the cold climate There are a lot of leaves on the stems. The more leaves, the more they can photosynthesize

Diamond-Leaf Willow

Salix Pulcha  The twigs on a willow are very soft  They can get up to 20 feet in height or just a few inches.  When the willow blooms it looks bumpy and fuzzy  The twigs on the willow are made into baskets b/c they bend easily
