Canada: Geography Canada is located in the northern-most region of North America. Canada is the second largest country in the world, after Russia. Due to its size, Canada features a variety of climates and terrains The country touches 3 oceans—the Atlantic, the Arctic, and the Pacific Canada's border with the United States is 5,526 miles in length and includes a 1,539-mile border with Alaska

Canada: People The main languages of Canada are English and French. The main religion is Christianity (about 77%). About 16.5 % of the population have no religion. The life expectancy for males is 78 years and 83 years for females. The literacy rate is 99% for both males and females.

Canada: Government Canada is a confederation with a parliamentary democracy; its government is patterned partly after the United Kingdom's but also has a federal system like the United States. Canada's major political parties include the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party, the Bloc Québécois, and the New Democratic Party. The current Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, is a member of the Conservative Party.

Canada: Economy The main ways people make a living in Canada are Agriculture 2%, manufacturing 13%, construction 6%, services 76%, other 3%. The per capita GDP is $38,400.
