How much oil is left ? The amount of oil left in the world is predicted to be around 1.2 trillion barrels of oil. More oil is likely to be discovered, but declines in oil supplies are currently outpacing newfound oil supplies according to National Geographic; this means that supplies are dropping.

Will our oil supply run out? 1.2 trillion barrels means that oil will run out in 44 years based on current usage figures. Although is it predicted that the time when oil will run out will come sooner due to the increasing usage and demand in the developing economies of the world, especially in China and India, where usage has increased dramatically in the past decade.

Co2 Reduction tips

Practice being green at the gas station Handle the pump with care and avoid topping off. Spilled fuel evaporates and causes air pollution. Also, try to buy gas during cooler times in the day or during evening hours when there is less evaporation.

Share. Didn’t your mother always tell you to share? If you only use your tent, ladder, or video player once in a while, consider lending it to others. Some communities have a shared tool shed. Workplaces have book exchanges. Or, you and a friend can team up to buy rarely used items. Sharing decreases the energy and pollution from mining, manufacturing, packaging, and transporting new goods.
