INJURIES TO THE CERVICAL SPINE THESE ARE VERY SERIOUS INJURIES AS ARE ALL SPINE INJURIES. AFFECTED AREAS INCLUDE: BONES IN THE NECK JOINTS IN THE CERVICAL SPINE SPINAL CORD (Sometimes) SOFT TISSUE SURROUNDING SPINE

NECK FRACTURE A COMPLETE OR INCOMPLETE BREAK IN A BONE IN THE NECK INJURIES TO THIS REGION OF THE SPINE ARE USUALLY A COMBINATION WITH A SPRAIN, DISLOCATION, AND FRACTURE. THE MOST SEVERE INJURIES CAN INJURE THE SPINAL CORD, RESULTING IN PARALYSIS OR DEATH.

NECK FRACTURE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: SEVERE pain at the fracture site Selling of soft tissue around the fracture Very Tender to the Touch Possible NUMBNESS Below the site CAUSED BY: A DIRECT BLOW AN INDIRECT BLOW - twisting

TREATMENT FOR NECK FRACTURE KEEP PERSON WARM WITH BLANKETS TO PREVENT SHOCK CALL AN AMBULANCE! 911 DO NOT MOVE THE INJURED AREA!! DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE HELMET! USE A STRETCHER, SPINEBOARD, OR CERVICAL COLLAR TO IMMOBILIZE THE NECK WHILE TRANSPORTING THE INJURED PERSON TO THE HOSPITAL. DO THIS ONLY IF YOU ARE TRAINED IN MEDICAL ASSISTANCE OR IF YOU ARE ALONE.

NECK DISLOCATION A DISPLACEMENT OF SPINAL VERTEBRAE IN THE NECK. SUBLUXATION IS A MINOR DISLOCATION NECK SUBLUXATION IS COMMON IN ATHLETICS A NECK LUXATION IS A SERIOUS INJURY THAT CAN LEAD TO SPINAL CORD DAMAGE AND PARALYSIS IN ALL FOUR LIMBS AND SOMETIMES LEADS TO DEATH

NECK DISLOCATION SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: EXCRUCIATING PAIN AT TIME OF INJURY LOSS OF FUNCTION IN THE NECK AND SEVERE PAIN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MOVE IT VISIBLE DEFORMITY IF THE DISLOCATED BONES HAVE LOCKED IN THE DISLOCATED POSITION TENDERNESS OVER DISLOCATION SWELL AND BRUISING OF NECK NUMBNESS AND PARALYSIS BELOW THE NECK

NECK DISLOCATION TREATMENT DON’T MOVE ANYONE WITH A NECK INJURY!!! DO NOT REMOVE VICTIMS HEADGEAR CALL 911 IMMOBILIZE THE NECK AND GET ON A SPINEBOARD. TRANSPORT THE VICTIM TO HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY! ICE HELPS PREVENT INTERNAL BLEEDING. THE DOCTOR WILL MANIPULATE THE DISLOCATED BONES

NECK SPRAINS AND STRAINS COMES FROM VIOLENT OVER STRETCHING OF LIGAMENTS, TENDONS, OR MUSCLES. 3 Levels of Sprains and Strains (Mild, Moderate, Severe) SAME AS ANY OTHER SPRAIN OR STRAIN TREAT WITH P.R.I.C.E.

NOSE FRACTURE CONTACT SPORTS: BOXING, WRESTLING, ETC. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: SWOLLEN AND BRUISED PAIN AND TENDERNESS INABLILITY TO BREATHE THROUGH NOSE CROOKED OR MISSHAPEN NOSE BRISK BLEEDING OR OOZING OF BLOOD LIGHT-HEADEDNESS FROM BLOOD LOSS RAPID HEART BEAT, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, AND PALLOR (white as a ghost!)

NOSE FRACTURE TREATMENT PRICE PACK GUAZE IN NOSTRILS TO HELP STOP BLEEDING GET MEDICAL ATTENTION
