INTRODUCTION We are living in an age of I.T.. Today the technologies are changing faster than time. The technology which is updated now becomes outdated after some days. It has the ability to gather information about you & interact with you through special techniques like facial recognition, special recognition etc. It can even understand your emotions at the touch of the mouse. It verifies your identity, feels your presence & starts interacting with you. You ask the computer to dial your friend at his office. It realizes the urgency of the situation through the mouse & establishes a connection. This scenario is not a science fiction novel, nor it is a part of sensational hollywood block bluster. It is the story of things to happen in this millenium of I.T. We are living in an age of I.T.. Today the technologies are changing faster than time. THE TECHNOLOGY NEXT Human cognition depends primarily on the ability of perceive, interpret & integrate audiovisual & sensory information. Adding extraordinary perceptual abilities to computer would enable computer to work together with human beings as intimate partners. Researchers are attempting to add more capabilities to computer that will allow them to interact like humans, recognize human presence, talk, listen or even guess their feelings. The blue eyes technology developed by IBM at Almaden Research Centre, USA, aims at creating computational machines that have perceptual & sensory abilities like those of human beings.. Human cognition depends primarily on the ability of perceive, interpret & integrate audiovisual & sensory information. Adding extraordinary perceptual abilities to computer would enable computer to work together with human beings as intimate partners. It uses most modern video cameras & microphones to identify the user’s actions. The machine can understand what user wants, where he is looking at & even realise his physical or emotional states. Future applications of the blue eyes technology seem to be endless ranging from a voice operated lighting system at your household to the most advanced aeroplanes that can communicate with the pilot. It will make the user more productive by performing the expected action or by providing the expected information. The user can simply sit in his chair & request his blue eyes enabled television set to tune into his favourite program. Devices like ovens & mixtures will do their job at user’s will or request. Being a personal n/w comprising of both h/w & s/w, oxygen sits atop the global n/w. Each unit has a small screen, camera, GPS module, handy 21 mobile phone, infrared detector, two-way radio & a n/w connected device that needs to be programmed as per requirements. The voice recognition s/w associated with the device enables you to tell the device your requirements. To add to your curiosity the device can change into a highly sophisticated television set, hand help PC, beeper or even a pointing device. EMOTION MOUSE The need of the hour is to design an adoptive smart computer system that could possibly recognize your face, gestures, speed & even track your eye. An alternative approach to gather personal information is through touch. A smart computer can gain information about the user through touch via a special mouse & determine his emotional state. Today most computer user’s spend three fourth of their time scrolling through the screen using an input device called mouse. The need of the hour is to design an adoptive smart computer system that could possibly recognize your face, gestures, speed & even track your eye. An alternative approach to gather personal information is through touch. A smart computer can gain information about the user through touch via a special mouse & determine his emotional state. Today most computer user’s spend three fourth of their time scrolling through the screen using an input device called mouse.

This had made researchers realize the possibility of detecting user’s emotions through the mouse. So the most obvious place for putting emotion sensors is undoubtedly the mouse. The computer will determine the emotional state of the user when he simply touches the mouse. Sensors in the mouse sense the physiological attributes, which in turn, are related to the persons emotional state. The changes in the temperature of the fingers also form a reliable measure for prediction of the user’s emotions. Other psychological measures that may affect the emotions of the user are heart rate, Galvanic skin response (GSR) blood pressure & galvanic somatic activity.

THE SUITOR Computers would have been much more powerful, had they gained the perceptual & sensory abilities of the living beings on the earth. What needs to be developed is an intimate relationship between the computer & humans & the simple user interest tracker (SUITOR) is a revolutionary approach in this direction. By simply noticing where the user’s eyes focus on the computer screen, the suitor can be more precise in determining his topic of interest. The success lies in how much the suitor can be intimate to the user. Computers would have been much more powerful, had they gained the perceptual & sensory abilities of the living beings on the earth. When the user stares at a specific area on the screen & touches the mouse simultaneously, the cursor moves automatically to the area that the user is currently looking at, with an accuracy of 1.27 cm(0.5 inch).
