Pawel Olko1 Accredited laboratories Review of activities Calibration Individual dosimetry K,U,Th + Rn-222 Cs-137, Pu

Pawel Olko2 Why accredited labs? 1.Atomic Law Polish Act 2001 : only accredited dosimetry labs are able to perform individual dosimetry and calibration of radiation protection instruments 2.Individual dosimetry service at IFJ since 1960’s based on self-developed technology (thermoluminescence detectors) 3.Efficient usage of personnel 4.Extra score for accredited labs in categorization of scientific institutions in Poland 5.Research & development 6.Source of income

Pawel Olko3 Polish Centre of Accreditation 1.Accreditation according to the ISO/IEC norm 2.Accreditation valid for 4 years 3.External audit every year

Pawel Olko13 Summary and Conclusions 4 IFJ PAN laboratories accredited. IFJ PAN is now one of the most important supplier of dosimetric services in Poland. Using TLD developed technology at IFJ we offer dosimetric service for more than 17,000 radiation workers. It grows 20-25% per year. Laboratories were modernized in from structural funds of EU with total amount of about 0.9 M€. Laboratories are actively involved in research & development Revenue of accredited labs in 2008 was of 400 k€ and is increasing about 20% per year.
