5 American Community Survey: What is it? A large, continuous survey  Key component of the 2010 census program.  Replaces census sample questionnaire (long form).  Produces characteristics, not a population count.  More current information:annual data rather than once every 10 years.  Produces information for small areas including tracts, block groups and population subgroups.
