Administrators Overview All Hazards Plan Review “Making sure we are ready so we can take care of those people around us when bad stuff happens”

“Why the new plan?” The new plan comes into compliance with Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency New format focuses on four phases of emergency preparedness; Prevention, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Over 20 different scenarios covered Easier to read check list format Moved us from a bulky three inch binder to a lean one inch binder Clearly defines roles, aligns duties with NIMS

“Why the new plan?” Makes us take time to ask the tough questions Makes us revisit our procedures and align them with organizational changes

The Preferred Format

Our Review Process Some departments have very specific expertise to mitigate the main issue of a critical incident. However, other departments often offer valuable insight. We will be using a double review process

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? Review the sections you were assigned Turn them back into the recorder Redistribute them for a second review Enter proposed changes into the template Review the revised document Make final changes Send to board for adoption Release AHP to staff

What to consider when reviewing a section Remember this is a district wide document Be specific enough to offer “real” guidance but general enough to allow for adjustments Remember this is a legal document Don’t allow any individual department to turn the AHP into their policy and procedures guide. Make references to departments and generally allow the departments to manage how they accomplish the task Keep it simple and easily understood

How do I help? Provide overview of process Provide a template to work from Assist with assigning sections of plan for review Provide consulting during review process (phone or group meetings) Evaluate process during mid-review meeting Assist in developing revised plan distribution and education
