Definition An input device is any peripheral (piece of computer hardware equipment) used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system.

Input Devices

Key Board The set of typewriter-like Keys that enables you to enter data into a computer.

Mouse Device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a display screen.

Scanner A scanner is a device that captures images from photographic prints, posters, magazine pages, and similar sources for computer editing and display.

Micro Phone An instrument that converts sound waves into an electric current, usually fed into an amplifier, a recorder, or a broadcast transmitter.

Light Pen A small, photosensitive device connected to a computer and moved by hand over an output display in order to manipulate information in the computer.
