The monitoring of 8.0<V<9.5 stars around primary targets Ennio Poretti INAF-OAB

High resolution spectroscopy of all stars with V<8.0 in both fields 978 stars 978 stars ESO/FEROS 439 OHP/ELODIE 422 Brasil(ESO)/FEROS 103 TNG/SARG 76 Belgium(ESO)/CORALIE 17 Tautenburg 11 Long-term action started by French astronomers at OHP (PI: C. Catala) Combined with uvbyBeta photometry at Sierra Nevada Observatory (PI: R.Garrido) ELODIE spectrograph not very efficient, impossible to complete the programme First step of the Italian collaboration (E. Antonello in May 2000) First ESO Proposal submitted in September 2000 (PI: E. Poretti) FEROS observations in July 2001 and January 2003 (Obs.: L. Mantegazza) Non-observations in January 2002 (not accepted) and in July 2002 (bad weather) Data reduction completed in June 2003 (Mantegazza, Rainer, Bossi) Contribution from Brazilian astronomers (July 2002; E. Janot-Pacheco) to complete the survey in the Center direction

High resolution spectroscopy: the TNG/SARG contribution A semi-authomatic pipeline has been developed by W. W.Weiss at Vienna, with the collaboration of Catania group. Example:HD K2 IV Insufficient resources to monitor AntiCenter field: critical situation at CW1 (Vienna, September 2001). 1.5 nights in February nights in January 2003 SARG data ingested in GAUDI

The extension to stars with 8.0<V<9.5 To have a wider choice and to complete the HR diagram coverage Monitoring limited around selected primary targets uvbyBeta photometry completed in early 2005 at OSN HR spectroscopy very telescope-time consuming Survey in the AntiCenter direction : Serra La Nave observations (M. Rainer, next talk) Survey in the Center direction FEROS at ESO Observations in June 2005, 4 nights (M. Rainer) FRESCO at SLN Observations already running (G. Cutispoto)

Examples of monitoring around two primary targets Limited to stars close to the targets. The number of stars seems adequate to search for additional secondary targets.

Priorities 1.HD – HD : 13 stars 2.HD with IC 4756 : 30 stars HIGH 3.HD – HD : 6 stars 4.HD : 21 stars 5.HD without IC 4756 : 12 stars 6.HD only : 6 stars LOW 7.HD or HD only : 12 stars Total : 100 stars

Special programmes to investigate Seismology targets in the Center direction in the Center direction Search for LPV in the GDOR variable HD (SLN, OHP) HD : Velocity radial curve (SLN, OHP) Eclipse of the pulsating variable (FEROS) P.I. : G. Cutispoto (SLN) P. Mathias (OHP) M. Rainer (FEROS)

….. hoping to report on the results at the next Corot Week …..
