What are the risks in helping others? Concept Talk What are the risks in helping others?

Partner Share Discuss the question of the week with your partner. When have you taken a risk by helping someone else? Why? When might helping another person involve a sacrifice?

Let’s Talk About Turn to page 202-203 Let’s look at the pictures. Why is one hiker helping the other? People often help others in order to accomplish something.

Let’s Talk About The Coast guard is trying to rescue people from the ocean. What risks do they take? Coast guard rescuers are trained to help in these situations, but the rescuers are still very brave.

Let’s Talk About These soldiers are on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II. What is their goal? What are the risks in helping others?
