1 One Foundation

The “Red Cross Society of China Jet Li One Foundation Project” (Jet Li One Foundation)was founded by Red Cross ambassador Jet Li, under a strategic partnership with the Red Cross Society of China. The Jet Li One Foundation Project works independently to pursue its charitable mission and agenda.(Foundation) Introduction of One Foundation

The foundation believes that: “1 person + 1 dollar/yuan + 1 month = 1 big family”. If each person donates at least one dollar/yuan each month, our individual donations can be transformed into a much greater fund. When we combine our charitable strength, we can make sure that the most vulnerable( 易受伤的, 脆弱的 ) members of our global family will receive the help they need.(Belief) Introduction of One Foundation

Embodying the Red Cross’ spirit of humanity and philanthropy( 慈善活动 ), One Foundation believe that in helping others we will also find our own happiness. Starting in China, its goal is to build a sustainable, professional, and trustworthy foundation platform to encourage social sector development and bring out mass participation in philanthropic giving and volunteerism.(Culture)

Philanthropy Awards & Philanthropy Forum –Sub Bullet The foundation’s four pillars( 核心 ) of focus are: education, health, environment, and poverty (in no particular order). To promote the professional development of social sector and social enterprise work in China, One Foundation will launch an annual China Philanthropy Awards. The awards will find the top foundations and charities in China and provide grants for them to continue their work and scale their operations. We will provide a transparent process so that grant seekers will know exactly why an award was given.

Philanthropy Awards & Philanthropy Forum –Sub Bullet In addition, each year, One Foundation will hold an annual conference to bring together relevant individuals, non-profit organizations, corporations and government leaders to discuss the issues that pertain( 关于 )to our four pillars. The goal is to help provide a valuable platform for key stakeholders to network, share best practices and exchange ideas.

The guiding principles behind the One Foundation are professionalism, impact, transparency, and sustainability. With the support and partnership of multinationals, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and the media, the foundation has grown significantly in its first year and on November 1st-2nd, 2008 has hosted the 1st Annual Global Philanthropy Forum in partnership with Boao Forum for Asia. A central part of the forum will be the One Foundation Awards which will recognize and name the top ten NPOs of the year. One Foundation operates in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the USA with central offices in Beijing and Singapore. The guiding principles

Volunteers for the foundation pledge( 保证 ) themselves to donating a set amount each year and/or committing one hour of their time each month to the community through their line of work or other form of volunteer work. Volunteers are classified into four groups: Academic, Individual, Student, and Organizational. Volunteers

There is only ONE Earth. Each of us has only ONE life. We share the planet, and that makes us ONE global family. By helping others, we are also helping ourselves. Together we can overcome any challenge or difficulty. We encourage you to join us and help support the One Foundation.
