The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism By: Bailey Parish

1. THERE IS SUFFERING suffering is always there reborn into another suffering life feeling “happiness” is an illusion every great thing will end

2. THERE IS A CAUSE TO SUFFERING-CRAVING attachment to life (cyclic existence) karma-our actions have consequences suffering comes from our mind root delusions- attachment, anger, ignorance

3. THERE IS THE CESSATION OF SUFFERING enter state beyond suffering, Nirvana change mind to eliminate suffering learn proper wisdom to eliminate enter world of freedom, Nirvana

4. THE TRUE PATH Correct: thought, speech, actions, livelihood... correct: understanding, effort, mindfulness, concentration avoid: killing, lying, gossiping focus on here and now
