How to summarize Read the article –re read it if you do not understand it. Pre write- outline the frame of the article (the main points) Start writing -Start your summary with a clear identification of the type of work, title, author, and main point in the present tense. Do not quote anything- paraphrase (This works best if you don’t constantly go back to the article.) Summaries do not include any of your opinions
