Transition from Foundation Stage What have we done to help the children settle into Year One? Topic: Moving On Up Visits to classes/ stories Teddy bear picnic Job rotations in the afternoon ‘My Time’ Routines Development of new friendships and working together

Year One Curriculum Literacy and Numeracy sessions daily Phonics sessions daily Reading workshop daily Handwriting four times a week Science, ICT and all other foundation subjects taught during topic sessions Outdoor Games and PE

3,2,1 Blast Off The children will learn about space through scientific investigation and enquiry whilst also developing their understanding of forces, materials and light/dark. The outcome will involve written work on their knowledge and an exhibition of rockets they have made, evaluated and improved through a DT focus.
