ePMA Go-live readiness Questionnaire ePrescribing Masterclass Webex Kathy Wallis, Wessex AHSN Anne Joint, ePMA Project Manager, Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 3 June 2015

Why the Go Live readiness questionnaire was developed Outline of the questionnaire What is included in the questionnaire? What does the questionnaire look like? Validation of the questionnaire Experience of using the questionnaire Where can you find the questionnaire Q&A To cover

Complex change management project o Big change in working practice for staff o Different concerns from nurses and doctors o Requires lots of ‘stuff’ to be in place If done badly user acceptance can be negatively impacted leading to.. Poor user acceptance or, more importantly, reduced benefits and potentially impact patient safety Characteristics of an ePMA Project

Using the questionnaire Trusts can review the status of their project and check that all of the key aspects have been considered in the project planning Allows planning of items on a critical path and building a timeline in readiness to ePMA going live Provides a pragmatic review of the status of the project not all aspects of an ePMA project, but the specific topics that should be considered prior to go live most of these are areas that could cause a problem at or after go live if they have not been considered Building on the experiences of sites who have previously ‘gone live’

Outline of the Questionnaire Instructions on completion of the questionnaire Series of questions (with further explanation and prompts) Traffic light approach to grade the responses Glossary Designed for self-completion or use at a review meeting
