THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING BY: Orion Tyler Lee and CJ

Background The construction for the Empire State Building began in 1930 and took 1 year and 45 days to complete. The Empire State Building was designed by the architectural firm Shreve,Lamb, and Harmon, or more specifically by Gregory Johnson. It is a 102 story building that was originally designed to be the Reynolds Building in Winston – Salem, North Carolina.

Materials\size The Empire State Building is 1,250 feet tall And 78 years old. There were many materials that were used to build the Empire State Building. Steel, concrete, and wood were the three most commonly used ones. The Empire State Building is an architect landmark.

The uses of the Empire State Building It is used as A tourist attraction in New York. It is also an office building and a skyscraper. Many people all over the country visit New York to see the Empire state building. FOR THE BETTER PART OF A CENTURY, VISITORS went TO THE EMPIRE STATE building for the thrill of a life time: the journey upward to its fabled observatory nearly a quarter of a mile above fifth avenue 110 million visitors have thrilled to the awe- inspiring vision of the city.
