Anger Management S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.

Response to situations? 0 No Self Control 0 Have more verbal and physical aggression. 0 With SELF CONTROL 0 a teen must take accountability for his anger and avoid blaming his emotions on other people or events. 0 Examples? S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.

Identify Triggers 0 Some signs of loss of self control include feeling misunderstood, feeling disrespected, having expectations placed on you and being told "no." S.E. Students will view and complete self-control presentation and focus on empathy.

Recognize Warning Signs 0 Anger causes physiological responses, such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, muscle tension, and adrenaline rushes. S.E. Students will view and complete self-control presentation and focus on empathy.

Rational Self-Talk 0 Learning to change through self-talk can enable YOU to deal with anger more effectively in terms of how strongly YOU feel, how long YOU hold onto it and how YOU express it. 0 Example: "It is understandable that I am upset, but getting angry isn't going to fix anything." S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.

Develop Coping Skills 0 taking a walk outside, exercising, listening to music, writing down thoughts and emotions, drawing, deep breathing, talking with someone he trusts and finding a distraction 0 What works for you? When are you the happiest? S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.

Think Before Acting 0 YOU tend to react impulsively and don't take time to consider the consequences of their actions. 0 For example, rather then yelling and cursing at their parents during disagreements, YOU can learn to communicate respectfully, share YOUR thoughts and feelings, and to increase YOUR willingness to compromise. S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.

Know When to Walk Away 0 Walk away from the situation until YOU ARE able to calm down. Once calm, YOU will be more equipped to think rationally, to communicate effectively and to find a healthy solution. S.E. Students will view and complete self- control presentation and focus on empathy.
