Wind turbines are used to provide a great source of clean and renewable energy for your home or business.

How do wind turbines work? Wind turbines work well when they are put into a place where the wind is strong enough to turn them. The blades are connected to a gear box which turns wind power into electricity.

Who invented the first wind turbine The first wind turbine was invented in 1887 by a man named Charles Brush. He made this to make it easier not to buy energy supplies on his farm because it was too expensive.

Bad things about wind turbines. Wind turbines have great things about them but some things about them are horrible. They provide almost zero energy and when fossil fuel backup is involved they are killing nearly 100,000 birds a year.

Facts about wind turbines A wind turbine takes up to about 5kw of wind. The worlds largest wind turbine now is the Enercon. It has a rotor diameter of 126m and is 413 feet high. It uses 20 million kilowatts per year. Just one wind turbine can produce enough electricity to power up 300 homes. There are two types of wind turbines, vertical axis and horizontal axis. Most turbines are horizontal axis.

How much wind turbines cost? Wind turbines cost so much money it just depends on how many volts there are. The 15,300 volts wind turbine costs $140, and the smaller they go they go down to a 90 volt and only costs $8, Smaller and smaller means less money.

This wind turbine was newly constructed not to long ago. It was made in the Belgian part of the North Sea.

Needs and how much solar water pumping costs The need of solar pumping is to pump water from wells and rivers to villages and places. Most solar pumps cost less than $1,500 while the larger pumps are they can run up to $20,000.

Facts about solar pumping and what they are connected to? There are more than 10,000 solar pumps around the world today. Solar pumps need actual sunlight to work. The solar panel is directly connected to a DC motor that drives the pump.
