 White Bear First Nation is located in the southeast corner of the Moose Mountain area in Saskatchewan  Members consist of four First Nations – Cree, Saulteaux (So-toe), Nakota and Dakota

 a) She wanted to be a nurse ever since she was about 8 years-old.  b) She went to university and was getting good grades.  c) She thought she would give it a try and she got accepted to the nursing program.  d) All of the above

 Choosing what to study in University is not always the easiest decision.  Talking to a guidance counselor about your options is always a great choice.  Check out this website to take a simple quiz that will match you with occupations that you may like!  Job Futures Job Futures

 They plan cultural events.  They help create a sense of community for Aboriginal students; similar to that feeling of an Aboriginal community.  They provide free tutoring services if you are having troubles with academics.  They have a mentorship program.  Their goals include recruitment, retention and success for Aboriginal students.

 1 st Year – Working in a nursing home  2 nd Year – Working in the hospital setting  3 rd Year – Involved in pediatrics  4 th Year – Senior Practicum

 Being a part of the social aspect of nursing.  Working on prevention of health issues and health promotion.  Brainstorm with a partner the pros of becoming a nurse.

 As Tara mentions in the videos, math and science are key components in becoming a nurse and being a nurse.  Instead of taking a spare in high school, use that time to take science and math classes.

 Take a couple minutes to think of a role model in your life.  This could be someone in your family, a friend, a coach, a teacher, anyone.  You will need a piece of paper and a pencil.  Make a bubble in the middle of the page and write that person’s name.  Branch off from that bubble the different characteristics that make that person your role model.  Keep this paper to encourage yourself as you make decisions for your future!
