Initial Advising Meet with the Chair or Program Director to review your transfer credits Be sure that all of your credits are accounted for – you may have to resend your transcript if something is missing Map out your curriculum Ask about pre-reqs Ask about reqs outside of the curriculum
More Advising Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor that will assist with scheduling classes, curriculum mapping & planning your future Make it a point to meet your advisor during the first 2 weeks of the fall semester. him/her to set up a short meeting or stop by during their office hours for a quick introduction Be sure to ask how they will be handling advising appointments around scheduling dates
Scheduling Scheduling is completed on-line You will need to meet with your advisor to have your “flag” removed (this is a scheduling hold) Once your advisor removes your flag you will be allowed to schedule on your designated time/date Familiarize yourself with the scheduling system
Make sure you go all the way through – some students do not complete the last step and have not been enrolled in their classes
Internships Almost all of our programs have some sort of internship requirement (student teaching, clinical hours, etc) and most are off-campus Pay attention to the pre-reqs for these experiences – be sure to have all required paperwork/certifications completed too
Problem Solving If you run into difficulty of some sort, check with your professor/advisor/dept. chair – they may be able to help you out If it is a policy issue, refer to the Undergraduate Catalog or the Ram’s Eye View Undergraduate Catalog Ram’s Eye View Many policies are time sensitive – be sure to find & abide by the timeline for the policy Most needed forms are located on the Registrar’s page Registrar

Parking Get here early – parking is tight There is bus service between N & S Campus – it takes minutes to go between the bus stops Do not schedule back to back classes if 1 is on N. Campus & the other is on S. Campus You will be ticketed and/or towed if you do not register your car & get a parking sticker
