ADVERBS Modifying VERBS - The most useful way of recognizing ADVERBS modifying verbs is by rephrasing the sentence as a question that elicits the ADVERB as the answer. ADVERBS Modifying VERBS - Sometimes NOUNS can act as ADVERBS. For Example: Time: They unloaded the truck Tuesday. ADVERB question: When did they unload the truck? Answer: Tuesday Learning Target: I will review and identify adverbs.

ADVERBS Modifying VERBS - How is actually an ambiguous use - It asks the question by what means something is done. For Example: Question: How do you take an atomic bomb apart? Answer: Carefully Learning Target: I will review and identify adverbs.
