WHO IS DOING WHAT (and when)? If Aberdeen (and Patras) are carrying out the quantitative aspects of the CGE models, and Bologna those of the NEG models, they should also write their respective output. → 2 papers each team within end of August (which is the new planned date for the Conference in Riga) This deadline could also enlarged a bit (for the FINAL versions of the papers to October 2007, when the Conference wold take place. This option was preferred (in Joensuu) to the option “1 paper each team, and the two comparative analysis papers written by another partner ”

In the meantime (2007).. TERA Objective 2 “Assessing the extent to which the policies take into account the territorial factors. …… We shall compare the weight of these factors, as measured by our empirical results, with the effective relevance they have (if any) in the actual policies” P5 (Riga), who is not involved in WP5 and who was not involved in both WP2 and WP3 should work in advance on WP6, which would start officially in September 2007.

WP6 Relevance of structural development policies Leader: Riga Participants: all Identification and analysis of existing structural development policies Evaluation of their importance on the formation and the development of enterprises in the study-areas… (in the first part of 2007) Together with an overall evaluation of the importance of the territorial factors on the study areas (results available in the fall 2007)

WP6 Deliverables Month 31 (end of January 2008) Milestone No. 2 for WP6 1 Research paper (study-area specific) on the importance of structural policies and territorial factors

WP6 Deliverables Month 32 (end of February 2008) Milestone No. 3 for WP6 1 Comparative research paper

timing P5 should receive as inputs for WP6 a paper from each partner about all the policies related to the specific areas (translation in English of all local documents) within The Riga meeting (September 2007?) could be a first assessment of these new topics

TERA objective 3 WP7 Leader: Helsinki Participants: all Specifying new policy interventions which can promote the development of European remote rural areas. The design of these policies would embody those elements of the previous “territorial” analysis most useful for achieving the final goal.
