AmerenUE 7 General Net Metering Requirements Renewable generator can be sized up to an offset of all or part of the customer’s electrical energy requirements (no greater than) Maximum renewable generator size is 100 kW nameplate AmerenUE’s bi-directional meter must be installed Safe operation of the renewable generator is the main goal for standards set in the tariff as well as reliable service for all customers
AmerenUE 8 Code and Safety Requirements Customer-Generator’s system hardware must comply with all applicable: National Electrical Safety Codes (NESC) National Electric Codes (NEC) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Local electrical codes Underwriters Laboratories (UL) requirements for electrical equipment and their installation
AmerenUE 9 Physical Installation Requirements Lockable, AC visible disconnect device, accessible at all times to Ameren personnel should be located between the inverter and AC panel – near the meter System should have an anti-islanding function that prevents generator from continuing to supply power when Ameren system is not energized or operating normally If designed to provide uninterruptible power to critical loads, system needs to include a parallel blocking scheme for the backup source to prevent any backflow of power to Ameren’s electrical system when not energized or operating normally

AmerenUE 12 Customer’s Application Process – Two Steps STEP ONE Application for solar system design (wiring diagram and cut sheets) is submitted to Ameren (Sections A-D) – Go to Ameren.com for tariff application or call Lisa Cosgrove (314) Ameren reviews application system design and either sends a letter to the customer approving their design, requests additional information or denies plans (within 30 days 10 kW and below or 90 days over 10 kW) STEP TWO System is installed and customer has a MO licensed engineer or electrician inspect system to ensure all requirements are met and signs Section E of application Customer signs acknowledgement Section F and sends Ameren installs bi-directional meter $121 or $148 (depending on service type) after receiving signed Sections E and F Ameren approves completed application and mails a copy to the customer
