Mr. Keith L. Ball, Principal EHS Mission Statement: Etowah High School exists to prepare life-long learners and productive global citizens

 The General Assembly of Georgia created councils to “bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision- making process.”

 School Councils shall provide advice, recommendations, and assistance and represent the community of parents and business.

 Members of the School Council will serve for a term of two years.  The council will have a minimum of seven members.  Parents must make up the majority of the council and at least two of them being from the business community.  A parent member must serve as the chair.

prior to the voting meeting (August 31 Deadline).  Nominations are accepted by the principal from with in the electing body prior to the voting meeting (August 31 Deadline).  Nominations must be submitted in writing ( , fax, letter are all acceptable) by 8/31.  One vote shall take place with the highest vote recipient(s) being elected to serve on the school council.  You must be present to vote.  A person does not have to be present at the time of the vote to be elected to the council.

 To promote effective communication and foster team-work, the Student Advisory Board at EHS will be represented at each School Council Meeting.  Student representation is not required by the State Legislature in regards to council membership but necessary to overall effective school leadership.  The School Council, PTSA, SAB, and all stakeholders will work together in preparing life-long learners & productive global citizens.
