Summary  Vicnet provides information and communication technologies and supports services which aim to strengthen Victorian Communities.  This includes broadband and dial-up internet and access, website & domain hosting, and website design and development.  Vicnet offers internet services for the community, ICT project management, Vicnet community information portal, and training.  Vicnet works closely with the manager of Public Libraries to strengthen the relationship with the Victorian Public Library Network.  It provides a directory, the latest links, events, connecting communities programs and much more.  It is hosted and managed by Vicnet, a division of the State Library of Victoria.

The websites main objectives are:  To provide updated news currently happening in Victoria  To announce events planned for and around the state  To provide a community based website that will help people find current news, weather, the latest links, and a guide to TV.  Also, it is currently raising awareness about the recent bushfires and appeals for the victims and communities. The main content areas are:  Community Information  Weather  Community news/entertainment & recreational  Latest Links  State events They offer support through:  Training  Providing useful information to the public  Offering advice about a range of topics

The site also provides links to the latest websites:      Opinion on Website: This website provides many beneficial links and paragraphs of information regarding Victoria and its current events. I found this website to be a useful source of information for anyone interested in the weather, TV guide, Victorian events, and even the recent devastating bush fires. It then provides links to many other related websites. The people who run this site are workers and employees of the Victorian State Library, working under the Vicnet division. Therefore, there is more then one author of the site. In fact, there are many.
