MENTORING Why?Introduction 2010/2011 CQI Cumbria Objectives To provide assistance and support for those members seeking to promote/develop their knowledge base within the Quality arena To provide a support network for SME Quality personnel

MENTORING When?Programme

MENTORING What?The objectives of a Mentor 1)To offer assistance with becoming a member or progressing membership to a higher level. 2)To assist with completion of Continued Professional Development (CPD) forms. 3)To offer help and advice on quality issues confronted in the work place. 4)To agree goals and targets with the person being mentored. 5)To monitor progress of the person being mentored to ensure personal development. 6)To ensure a person’s skills, knowledge and their professional performance is enhanced and improved.

MENTORING Who?Who can be a mentor? Can be ANY member at ANY grade! Need the following attributes: Be willing to give up time to help others Have knowledge or understanding in a subject area All members can help with other members or non-members Can be via phone, , on-line forum or in person Quality Knowledge skills, understanding of the membership process, sector specific knowledge, etc.
