Mr O’Connor It is my intention to promote Business Studies and Economics at Hollyfield as a stimulating and inspiring practical subject.

Core Units for both Economics & Business Unit 1: Small Business - Exam in Year 11 which equals 25% of overall grade Unit 2: Controlled Assessment (Coursework) - Complete at start of Year 11 and equals 25% of the overall grade

Split into Business & Economics Business Unit 3: Building a Business Exam in Year 11 which equals 50% of the overall grade. Economics Unit 5: Introduction to Economic Understanding Exam in Year 11 which equals 50% of the overall grade.

GCSE in Business Studies You will learn more about how small businesses are developed and discover how businesses promote themselves and keep their customers happy. You will learn how businesses manage both their finances and the people who work for them.

GCSE Economics You will also learn more about how small businesses are developed and discover how businesses promote themselves and keep their customers happy. However you will then learn how to think like an economist; look at risk and uncertainty; is growth good and is the world fair?

Trips and Clubs T.B.C. Due to the appointment of a new Head of Department.

Progression In Sixth you can further your knowledge by studying:  A Level Business  A Level Economics  BTEC Level 3 Business

Careers Option Everything is a Business! Even Hollyfield School!!! 1)First made in 1993, cost £90 to buy, 2)Re-launched in 2013, cost £95. 3)Made in China for £6! 4)Why pay £95 for Nike in JD Sports?

Think about it this way! The proof is in the pudding. Ask current students about Business Studies and Economics at Hollyfield.
