  Rev. 3: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”  This is not about the attitudes of the heart; it’s about what you do based on who you are in Christ A message to the church….

  Along the borders of Laodicea (near & in Hierapolis) were hot springs  They were known for their healing and soothing properties  Within Colossae proper and bordering Laodicea were very deep, very cold water wells  They were known for their refreshing and rejuvenating waters, especially to travelers Running hot or cold?



  When you are sick, broken, and hurting, you want to bathe yourself deeply in hot pools of healing  When you are weary, parched and thirsty from life’s journey, you want to be able to drink deeply of cold, refreshing water Lukewarm is….well, lukewarm

  …And He wants to use us, His church, as the distributor!  Jn7:38: “…from his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.”  When we respond to others, are we bringing either healing or refreshing?  Lukewarm is ineffective – it serves no purpose & rarely facilitates healing or restoration. Jesus is the source….

  Prov 15:1, 23 “a gentle answer turns away wrath…” “A man has joy in an apt answer, how delightful is a timely word”  Prov 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine”  James 5:15: “…and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick” How can we respond?

  Eph 4: 15&16 “…but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body….” Finding our place in the BOC

  The challenge: Are you willing to be either a jacuzzi or a water fountain when it comes to the people God has brought or will bring into your life? It’s never too late….
