Athletic Parent Meeting 2010

Updated daily with schedule change information. The website is the best source for the most up to date information.

Use the drop-down menu to pick your sport. Schedules will be updated as changes are made. Announcements posted by coaches will appear on the team page and main athletics page. There are also links to individual team pages. Some features are not fully functional but over this will change.

1.Must be passing 5 classes to be eligible each week. 2.Violations: 30%  one year  career 1.Presence at a party where illegal use of alcohol/drugs are taking place. 2.Alcohol or drug violation 3.Tobacco possession or use 4.Anabolic steroids 5.Other types of violations (facebook, school suspension) 3.Three code violations in one calendar year from the first offense will result in a one year suspension. 4.Rules apply year round, outside of school, out of town, out of state and out of the country.

The IHSA will conduct random tests throughout the season beginning this year. State Law calls for at least 1,000 student-athletes to be tested each school year and will allow random testing to occur at any time during the school year. The Law will also require representation from at least 25 percent of IHSA member schools in the annual testing pool. Must have a signed drug testing consent form on file before an athlete may try-out for any team. Refusal to be tested will result in an IHSA violation.

“Student Athlete” Must be passing 5 classes each week. The Process… Grades pulled Thursday afternoon Coaches notified on Friday If a discrepancy, the athlete must contact the teacher. The teacher must notify the athletic office if an adjustment is made.

Lock EVERYTHING at all times. You must provide your own lock. Do not leave anything unattended or unlocked in a locker room, hallway, practice area, weight room, training room, etc. If you would not leave it sitting on a bench at Gurnee Mills, do not leave it sitting on a bench at school. Report suspicious behavior to the Mark Pos at Almond, Kim Lobitz at O’Plaine or your Dean at either campus. WTHS is not responsible for items lost or stolen.

What is the Booster Club? It is an organization of parents that work to raise money to support the Warren Township High School Athletics. How does the Booster Club accomplish this? - Golf Outing / Early June - Fall Fling – Silent Auction / October 16 th, Concession Stand for most sporting events - Sale of Blue Devil memorabilia - Membership Dues

What is involved in joining the Booster Club? The cost is $10. For that fee, you will get a sticker to put on your vehicle that will identify you as a supporter of Warren HS Athletics. Your will also be added to our Booster mailing list. When we need volunteers to help with our outings or in manning the concession stand for an event, we will send out an to our mailing list. If you can help, then just respond. If not, let the go unanswered. This means that there is no obligation. However, your support is always needed to insure that our Athletes get what they need to compete in their chosen sport.

What does the Booster Club do with the Money?
