The main subject in the photograph is the dam. I can tell because the big rocks and river led to it. The composition on this photo is the rule of thirds and they have more rocks and water and the dam and less sky because it is not interesting. There is all kinds of textures. The water is rough in some places where it goes fast and smooth where it is calm. The rock are rough, edgy, and not smooth at all.
